Dragon Ball Super Steelbook Blu-ray Collection Released on Monday – News

On Monday October 17, Crunchyroll will release a Steelbook Blu-ray edition of Dragon Ball Super, carrying the series on twenty Blu-ray discs. Crunchyroll describes the series:

“After defeating Majin Buu, life is peaceful once again. Goku has taken a completely new role as a…radish farmer?! With Earth at peace, our heroes have settled into normal lives. But they can’t get too comfortable. Far away, a powerful god awakens to a prophecy revealing his demise at the hands of a formidable being. Can Goku and his friends take on their strongest foe yet?”

The Dragon Ball Super television anime series premiered in July 2015 and aired for 131 episodes until March 2018.

Toriyama is credited as the original creator, as well as for “original story & character concepts.” Toei Animation‘s Kimitoshi Chioka (Hakaba Kitarō, Kamisama Kazoku) is the series director, and Naoko Sagawa (Yomiko Advertising, Inc.) and Atsushi Kido (Toei Animation) join Osamu Nozaki as producers. Kido entered Toei just as the company was animating the Dragon Ball Z anime’s Frieza arc. Masako Nozawa, the voice of Goku, Gohan, and Goten, is returning for the series.

Kazuya Yoshii will perform the opening theme “Chōzetsu☆Dynamic” (Excellent Dynamic) and rock band Good Morning America will perform the ending theme “Hello Hello Hello.”

Crunchyroll will also release the first volume of How a Realist Hero Rebuilt the Kingdom as a Limited Blu-ray/DVD edition (pictured), as well as standard Blu-ray and DVD editions. The Blu-ray/DVD edition will include a 32-page art book, four art cards, a quill pen and a map.

J-Novel Club, which is releasing the source novels digitally, describes the story:

“O, Hero!” With that cliched line, Kazuya Souma found himself summoned to another world and his adventure–did not begin. After he presents his plan to strengthen the country economically and militarily, the king cedes the throne to him and Souma finds himself saddled with ruling the nation! What’s more, he’s betrothed to the king’s daughter now…?! In order to get the country back on its feet, Souma calls the wise, the talented, and the gifted to his side. Five people gather before the newly crowned Souma. Just what are the many talents and abilities they possess…?! What path will his outlook as a realist take Souma and the people of his country down? A revolutionary transferred-to-another-world administrative fantasy series starts here!

Takashi Watanabe (The Slayers, Ikki Tousen, Freezing) directed the anime at J.C. Staff. Go Zappa (Koihime Musō, Moriarty the Patriot) and Hiroshi Ohnogi (Aquarion, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood) wrote the scripts. Mai Otsuka (Shakugan no Shana, Urara Meirochō, The Demon Girl Next Door) designed the characters. Akiyuki Tateyama (Laid-Back Camp, ISLAND, Senryū Girl) is composed the music.
