HyperX Cloud Stinger 2 [Tech Review]

What we’re covering today is the Cloud Stinger 2 from HyperX! The Cloud Stinger 2 is an enhanced version of its predecessor the Cloud Stinger. This new enhanced version has the same comfort and durability as the Cloud Stinger but the Cloud Stinger 2 now comes with DTS Headphones:X Spatial Audio features that improve the accuracy of 3D audio spatialization and localization. DTS Headphones:X is an app program made to give players the ability to create an accurate, realistic, and amazing sound experience that helps with the immersion experience in-game or watching movies.

The Cloud Stinger 2 is also very lightweight compared to the Cloud Stinger. This lightweight design allows for longer gaming sessions without discomfort coming to play while still providing the best sound for your gaming experience. We honestly played for hours on end— like 8-9 hours straight—and we didn’t have any discomfort throughout our experience. We even forgot we had it on until we moved our head at one point during our experience and that was something new to us as most headsets you get these days are pretty heavy in weight and put pressure on your skull after a couple of hours of gaming. Not with the Cloud Stinger 2!

The Cloud Stinger 2’s microphone is attached to the headset but has a nice feature where you can lift the microphone’s boom arm upward to turn off the mic and place it out of away so it’s not distracting. You hear a clicking sound when the mic boom arm is adjust up or down indicating that your microphone is in its on or off position. The mic boom arm is adjustable and picks up your voice very nicely without any major distortion to the voice audio unles you have the mic direct in front of your mouth. Like, really close. Practically touching. The cable for the headset is a good length by default and when you include the PC adapter for full use of your headset and microphone, it provice about 4-5 inches of cable length so it adds up if you are a bit far from your PC. It should be a good distance unless you have your PC on the other end of your room?!

Overall, we really oved the HyperX Cloud Stinger 2 headset as it is simple yet, powerful and super lightweight for a headset. We would definitely love to see this as wireless or bluetooth but we also understand that that will add some weight to the headset and change the comfortability and lightness of the headset. The sound is amazing with the DTS Headphone:X Spatial Audio and provides near realistic and omnidirectional sound when playing games. Perfect for FPS games suzh as Apex Legends, Call of Duty Warzone, Modern Warfare II, Overwatch1 & 2, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, and the likes. The Cloud Stinger 2 would also be a great headset to keep with you when traveling on business or for pleasure. It’s design makes it the perfect device for such adventures or if you want to relax and listen to music at home. The DTS Headphones:X feature provides the best immersion experience for music and games alike.
