Solo Leveling Anime Reveals The Main Cast at Anime Expo 2023


The highly anticipated Solo Leveling anime has revealed its main cast. The official website for the anime showcased the cast in a character promotional video. The video premiered at Crunchyroll’s Anime Expo panel. 

Solo Leveling Anime Coming Soon (Cast Announced) 

The main cast includes Taito Ban as Sung Jinwoo/Shun Mizushino, Reina Ueda as Cha Hae-In/Shizuku Kosaka, Hiroki Touchi as Baek Yoonho/Taiga Shirakawa, Genta Nakamura as Yoo Jinho/Kenta Morohishi, Daisuke Hirakawa as Choi Jong-In/Shin Mogami, Banjou Ginga as Go Gunhee/Kiyoomi Gotō, and Makoto Furukawa as Woo Jinchui/Akira Inukai. 

The anime is set to premiere next winter. Crunchyroll announced the adaptation at its Anime Expo panel in July 2022. Solo Leveling is based on a popular manhwa by Chugong and DUBU. It takes place in a world where gates connect our reality with a different dimension. 

Hunters, humans with supernatural powers, conquer dungeons within these gates. The protagonist, Jinwoo Sung, accepts a mysterious quest while on the brink of death, leading to a transformative journey. 

A-1 will produce the anime, while Shunsuke Nakashige will serve as the director. Moreover, Noboru Kimura serves as the head writer, while Tomoko Sudo designs the characters. Hiroyuki Sawano composes the music. Lastly, Crunchyroll will stream the anime outside of Asia. 

The manhwa adaptation of Solo Leveling launched in March 2018 and concluded in December 2021. Yen Press publishes the manhwa and the original novel series in English. Kadokawa releases the manhwa in Japanese under the title Ore Dake Level-Up na Ken.

Anime Expo 2023 Most Important Announcements 

At Anime Expo 2023, Crunchyroll held a panel where they made several exciting announcements. Among them were the returns of popular series like Bottom-Tier Character Tomozaki 2nd Stage and Goblin Slayer season 2. 

Additionally, Crunchyroll also revealed information about anime such as Black Butler, Solo Leveling, and Me & Roboco. Most of these shows are scheduled to premiere next year, except for Me & Roboco, which joined the streaming service on July 4, 2023.

During the event, Crunchyroll showcased numerous trailers for their upcoming lineup. For example, fans can expect to see The Apothecary Diaries on Crunchyroll sometime in 2023. Moreover, Goblin Slayer season 2 is also slated for 2023. Furthermore, Mappa’s BUCCHIGIRI?! will be available on Crunchyroll starting January 2024. Another exciting announcement was the upcoming new season of Black Butler, set to arrive in 2024.

The Anime Expo 2023 panel generated immense excitement as Crunchyroll unveiled their plans for these series and treated fans to thrilling trailers. With a diverse lineup of new and returning shows, Crunchyroll continues to captivate anime enthusiasts worldwide.
