The Otaku Box: May 2024 Edition

Hey guys, I’m back again with yet another Otaku Box review, and this time we’re unboxing the May 2024 edition. A month ago I talked about the June 2024 box and fastforward to today I got 2 new boxes: the May and July versions. I’ll be reviewing the July box soon in the upcoming article, so stay tuned!

Anyway, let’s get started.

For those who don’t know, The Otaku Box is a subscription service that delivers a monthly dose of anime-themed goodies right to your doorstep. Each box is carefully curated with exclusive items that cater to the diverse tastes of the otaku community.

You can even vote on what character gets printed on scrolls and tees next month, which is a super exciting thing as an otaku.

In this May 2024 edition, The Otaku Box has outdone itself with a collection of merchandise that celebrates some of the most iconic characters from popular anime series. Let’s dive into what this month’s box has to offer.

Unboxing the May 2024 Otaku Box

As always, The Otaku Box promises a mix of exclusive and high-quality items. Upon opening the box, it’s clear that this month’s selection is a treat for fans of “High School DxD,” “Akame ga Kill,” “Danmachi,” and “Darling in the Franxx.” Here’s a closer look at each item:

1. Rias Gremory Metal Card

Rias Gremory Metal Card

The first item in the May 2024 Otaku Box is the stunning metal card featuring Rias Gremory from “High School DxD.”

This collectible card is not only a visual delight but also a testament to the quality of items included in The Otaku Box. The artwork captures Rias in all her glory, with a classic metallic color and intricate details that make this card a must-have for any fan of the series.

Whether you’re a collector or simply a fan of Rias, this metal card is a fantastic addition to your anime memorabilia.

2. Rias Metal Phone Stand

Continuing the “High School DxD” theme, the box also includes a metal phone stand featuring Rias Gremory.

This item is as functional as it is stylish, making it a perfect desk accessory for any anime fan. The design showcases Rias’ beauty, and the stand itself is sturdy enough to hold your phone securely.

Whether you’re using it for video calls, streaming, or just to keep your phone handy, this phone stand adds a touch of anime flair to your workspace.

3. Akame Sports Water Bottle

Staying hydrated is important, and what better way to do so than with a sports water bottle featuring Akame from “Akame ga Kill”?

This bottle is both practical and visually appealing, with a sleek design that highlights Akame in action.

The bottle is made from durable materials, ensuring that it can withstand daily use, whether you’re at the gym, on a hike, or just going about your day.

It’s a great way to show off your love for “Akame ga Kill” while staying refreshed.

4. Hestia Tea Towel

For fans of “Danmachi” (Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?), the inclusion of a tea towel featuring Hestia is a delightful surprise.

This tea towel is both cute and functional, with a design that showcases Hestia in her signature outfit.

I’m not sure about its absorbent capabilities because I haven’t used it yet, but its definitely a fun, daily-use item to showcase your love for anime.

5. Kuroka T-Shirt

No anime subscription box is complete without some wearable merch, and this month’s Otaku Box includes a black t-shirt featuring Kuroka from “High School DxD.”

The t-shirt is made from high-quality fabric that’s comfortable and stylish, making it perfect for everyday wear.

The design is bold and eye-catching, with Kuroka depicted in a striking color combination that’s sure to turn heads.

6. Zero Two Figurine

Arguably the main highlight of the May 2024 Otaku Box is the 1:9 scale figure of Zero Two from “Darling in the Franxx.”

This figure is a collector’s dream, with incredible attention to detail that brings Zero Two to life. From her beautiful bikini outfit to her flowing pink hair, every aspect of this figure is meticulously crafted.

It’s the perfect centerpiece for any anime figure collection and a must-have for fans of “Darling in the Franxx.”

7. Maid Outfit Akeno Wall Scroll

Next up, the box includes a wall scroll featuring Akeno from “High School DxD” in a maid outfit.

This wall scroll is a fantastic piece of art that’s perfect for decorating your room that could use a touch of anime charm.

The artwork is beautifully rendered, with Akeno looking as captivating as ever. The scroll itself is made from quality fabric, ensuring that it will stand the test of time.

If you’re a fan of “High School DxD” or just love collecting anime wall art, this Akeno wall scroll is a must-have.

8. Dragon Ball Clothing Patch

This Dragon Ball-themed clothing patch is something new in Otaku Box, at least for me. This is the first Dragon Ball themed item I’ve seen in the Otaku Box this year.

Featuring the playful quote “Just Saiyan,” this patch is perfect for those who appreciate a good pun and love the Dragon Ball series.

The patch is designed with a simple black color and a bold font that captures the iconic style of Dragon Ball.

It’s easy to apply to jackets, bags, or hats, allowing you to customize your gear with a touch of Saiyan pride.

9. Medusa Waifu Card

This month’s waifu card is yet another one from the “Fate” series, featuring Medusa. While she may not be a main character in the series, she definitely has her charms.

This beautifully designed card showcases Medusa in her captivating and mysterious appearance, capturing her allure perfectly.

The artwork is detailed and vibrant, making this card a standout piece in any collection.

Final Thoughts on The Otaku Box – May 2024

The May 2024 edition of The Otaku Box offers a well-rounded selection of items that cater to a variety of anime tastes. Some of the items are quite useful for day-today use, which is much appreciated.

If there’s anything I could complain it is that they seem to have stopped

Overall, The Otaku Box continues to impress with its commitment to providing exclusive and high-quality anime merchandise. If you’re not already subscribed, the May 2024 box is a great reason to start.
