What You Need to Know:
- Nicknamed the “Samurai Guitarist,” MIYAVI is an artist who has an active career both in Japan and overseas. In recent years, he has performed at the opening game of the Yokohama DeNA BayStars baseball team at Yokohama Stadium; given the opening performance at the National Stadium when the soccer team Paris Saint-Germain came to Japan; collaborated with Kodo, a taiko drumming troupe that keeps traditional Japanese music and arts alive through their performances, on Sado Island; made a collaborative video with McLaren’s new generation hybrid car Artura; and appeared in Dell’s global Youniverse campaign.
- In Japan, his dynamic performance as a “next-generation yakuza boss” in the recently released movie Hell Dogs was well received, and he will appear in the movie Familia in January 2023. And, as the first part of his 20th anniversary project “MIYAVI 20th & Beyond,” he will be releasing his first anime song cover album “MIYAVIVERSE – Anima -” on November 23.
- For this cover album, four new key visuals have been released! Together with the photo revealed when the album was announced, these five artist photos each represent one of the songs on the album.
- Which photo represents which song? As depicted by the different colors, each of the album tracks has been reborn in a unique way with a MIYAVI sound. Following this release, the album jacket will be released in mid-October, and a lyrics video is also in the works.
- We hope you will look forward to more news on the anime song cover album “MIYAVIVERSE – Anima -” as the full picture is gradually revealed.
