11/11 – Buggy, the Bombastic Clown

Buggy is easily one of the most luckiest characters in all of One Piece. He was originally a no-name pirate who lost to Luffy at the very beginning of the anime.

However, he gets lucky over and over again, to the point that he became one of the Shichibukai members in One Piece.

As if that isn’t enough, he even became a Yonko soon after that!

He has the chop-chop fruit ability which allows him to chop his body and move every part at will. It is easily one of the most bizarre devil fruit abilities in the show.

10/11 – Gecko Moria, the Weakest Warlord

It is kind of an injustice to call him “weakest” when he actually gave Luffy one hell of a beating. I know. But the fact is, Doflamingo explicitly mentioned that he was the weakest warlord and that he was no longer needed.

Moria is an evil doctor who has made himself into a durable monster. This is why his appearance is so weird, with patches of stitches here and there.

He also has the ability to create zombies and manipulate shadows to attack with them.

9/11 – Edward Weevil, the Son of Whitebeard

Edward Weevil is the selfproclaimed son of the legendary pirate, Whitebeard.

He has proven himself worthy of a place among the top Shichibukai, having fought against his father’s crew and outmatched them with sheer strength.

After Whitebeard’s death, he appeared out of nowhere, claiming to be his son.

He possesses life-threatening power and is easily one of the strongest characters in One Piece.

However, after the dissolution of the warlord system, he became just another big name pirate. His specialties are raw physical battles and tremendous chaotic combat power, even without devil fruit.

8/11 – Crocodile, the Desert King

Crocodile, also known as Mr. 0, was once a Shichibukai and a member of the Baroque Works. He was one of the strongest, proving himself to be a formidable opponent for both Luffy and Ace.

With his Devil Fruit abilities to manipulate sand and his unique weapons, he’s easily one of the most powerful Shichibukai.

In the manga, he has become a part of another pirate organization along with Hawkeye Mihawk, and Buggy.

7/11 – Bartholomew Kuma, the Tyrant

Bartholomew Kuma is a giant bear-like human cyborg who was formerly a Shichibukai.

He is one of the most powerful characters in the One Piece universe, possessing immense physical strength and speed.

His weapon of choice is his enormous paws, and he also has the ability to manipulate energy to use as projectiles, making him even more dangerous

He proved himself as one of the most powerful members of the Shichibukai before he was transformed into a mindless cyborg.

6/11 – Boa Hancock, the Snake Princess of Amazon Lily

Boa Hancock is the Snake Princess of Amazon Lily, a highly regarded Shichibukai, and one of the strongest female characters in One Piece.

Her strength comes from her mastery of Mero mero no Mi, also known as the Love-Love Fruit. This powerful Devil Fruit allows Hancock to mesmerize almost any opponent with a single look, leaving them powerless and weak in her presence.

She uses her powers to fight for both justice and revenge. Hancock stands tall amongst fellow powerful characters like Doflamingo and Mihawk, making her firmly rooted in seventh place on this list of the strongest One Piece shichibukai.

5/11 – Trafalgar Law, the Surgeon of Death

Trafalgar Law is the captain of the Heart Pirates and one of the seven Shichibukai.

He is a former member of the Donquixote Pirates, but managed to successfully defect.

Apart from his immense intelligence, Law is also incredibly powerful because of his utilization of devil fruit powers.

His ability to manipulate space with his Op-Op Fruit gives him a unique edge in battle, and he uses it often as an offensive weapon.

While he might not have been able to reach the Emperor’s level of power, his abilities still make him one of the most dangerous characters in One Piece.

4/11 – Donquixote Doflamingo, The Nonchalant Strategist

Doflamingo takes top place in our ranking of the strongest One Piece Shichibukai.

This cunning strategist is a former Warlord, originally known as Joker before trading his name in exchange for an alliance with the World Government.

He’s a master of manipulation, using deceit and disguise to fool even those closest to him.

Adding to his skills are his mastery of Haki and use of the Devil Fruit ability, which allows him to transform into thread-like strings with different levels of durability or offensive power.

With such a formidable arsenal, it’s no wonder why Doflamingo stands as one of the top Shichibukai.

3/11 – Jinbei, the First Son of the Sea

Jinbei was one of the former seven warlords and the strongest of the bunch. However, he was thrown into the Impel Down Prison, after which he joined the Strawhat pirate group.

He is a fishman, boasting an insane knowledge of and practice of fishman karate.

Jinbei was one of the few Shichibukai who did not have a devil fruit power. Regardless, he was so powerful that the government wanted him on their side.

2/11 – Dracule “Hawk-Eye” Mihawk, the Strongest Swordsman in the World

Dracule “Hawk-Eye” Mihawk is one of the most powerful characters in the One Piece franchise.

The holder of the title “Greatest Swordsman in the World,”  Mihawk, has immense endurance and formidable strength, as well as exemplary analytical capabilities.

He was also instrumental in giving a humiliating defeat to Zoro during the Baratie Arc, which gave Zoro a taste of the true strongest.

He later became an important tutor to Roronoa Zoro during the timeskip period.

His skills have earned him respect from many, including Shanks and Whitebeard himself, and even after all these years, his power has not diminished.

1/11 – Marshall D. Teach, the Strongest Man in the World

Marshall D. Teach, more famously known as Blackbeard, is a man who earned the title of “strongest man in the world” through his sheer strength and power.

He was one of the most powerful members of the Whitebeard Pirates. Later, he betrayed Whitebeard and formed his own pirate group.

After killing Whitebeard, he had the ability to control two Devil Fruits at once, one enabling him to erase anything he touched and another allowing him to create spatial quakes.

Ultimately, Blackbeard holds his place as one of One Piece’s most feared villains, both for his ominous presence and tremendous power.

FAQs About One Piece Shichibukai

In this section, I will be answering some of the most frequently asked questions about the warlords in One Piece.

Note that some of the below information might be a spoiler for you if you haven’t caught up with the anime or manga.

Would Luffy be a Shichibukai?

No, Luffy will never be a Shichibukai. The Warlord system was removed from the World Government as they are a troublesome bunch.

Besides, Luffy would never want to be one of the seven warlords of the sea, as it would go against his goals and dreams. He is just not the kind of person who will agree to work for someone else.

What replaced Shichibukai?

The Shichibukai were replaced by Vegapunk’s Special Science Group (SSG). Instead of having pirates doing the work for the Government, now robots and cyborgs do the work.

The SSG is arguably far stronger than the seven warlords, as they have created Pacifistas and Seraphim that physically replace the warlords.

Who is the weakest Shichibukai?

Buggy the clown was probably the weakest Shichibukai of all time. He got the position by sheer luck. He never had the power or intellect to become one of the seven warlords of the sea.

That said, before Buggy, Gecko Moria was considered to be the weakest Warlord to exist.

How many warlords has Luffy defeated?

Luffy has defeated three warlords:

  • Crocodile
  • Gecko Moria and
  • Doflamingo.
