things to do at ax chibi

We are so thrilled to soon welcome you to anime expo chibi, our inaugural event bringing back that intimate, old-school con feel! But don’t let the name fool you — this convention might be on the smaller side, but it will nevertheless be offering plenty of interactive experiences designed to bring our community together and highlight the best of Japanese pop culture! To help ensure fans don’t miss out on any of the fun this November, we’ve gathered some of the highlights all in one place below.

The AX Classics:

  • As always, fans can stop by the Exhibit Hall for a fix of their favorite anime merch from industry partners like HYPLAND and Good Smile Company, while discovering amazing artists at Artist Alley.
  • Our all-ages manga lounge offers thousands of titles for attendees to kick back and relax with during the event, while Lounge 21 offers DJs, drinks and more entertainment options for the older (21+) crowd.
  • Gamers can further play hundreds of games in our tabletop gaming room, and our retro gaming room, packed with vintage throwback consoles and beloved classics, offers a nostalgic trip back to those halcyon days of old.
  • You also won’t want to miss out on our cosplay karaoke and screenings of some of your favorite anime movies out on the big screen!

The chibi Firsts:

  • We’re thrilled to announce our first-ever chibi night market, where fans can jam out to great performers while getting their grub and drink on.
  • Another first for us is the new Maid Cafe, hosted by Dreamland Maid Cafe, where fans can experience their talented performers while enjoying some fun and tasty food like a true cafe!
  • For a truly chibi experience, all cosplayers under the age of 16 are invited to join the chibi cosplay runway to bring their own style to the stage.
  • Our immersive cultural workshops offer fans an opportunity to learn all about Japanese traditions from their favorite anime, like origami and calligraphy, as well as how to draw attractive characters.

Anime expo chibi has been working hard to bring attendees an all-new, but still comfortably familiar, anime expo experience, and we are so excited to share all the fun experiences with fans both new and old during our inaugural event!
